Traffic Stop Leads to Cocaine and Cash
On December 15, 2018 at 9:57 PM Parsons Police Officer Jordan Tomlinson observed a Red Chevy Cruze commit a traffic violation in the 1200 block of Main Street. Officer Tomlinson conducted a traffic stop and detected the odor of suspected marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Officer Tomlinson and Officer Keenen Roberts conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered Marijuana, Cocaine, and Paraphernalia. There was a sum of money as well. 22-year-old Kayla Kennedy of St. Paul and 23-year-old Adrianna Pease of Parsons were arrested. Charges are being filed with the Labette County Attorney's office for Sale and Distribution of Marijuana, Sale and Distribution of Certain Stimulants, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Certain Stimulants, Possession of Paraphernalia, and other traffic offenses.
Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks says "this is a result of the continuing fight against those who try to sell illegal narcotics in our town. We have officers who will find you and bring you to justice. As we continue our mission to establish the Narcotics Task Force our officers will keep hammering away at the drug problem in our community and work to keep the good hardworking men and women of Parsons safe," continued Spinks.
"Officers Tomlinson and Roberts are two motivated officers leading the charge for our Department in its efforts to stop the sale of illegal narcotics in Parsons," claims Spinks.
