Community Service Officer (CSO)
CSO Ricky Thompson
The Community Service Officer (CSO) is a refreshed position for the Parsons Police Department that was adopted in the latter part of 2019. Ricky Thompson was recently hired and is taking on the role as our new CSO. Ricky is a Parsons resident and is familiar with our community. Along with Animal Control responsibilities Ricky will tackle many quality of life problems the community faces. He is heading up the RUOK program, handling parking problems along with abandoned vehicles. Ricky will also be doing updates on the 'Rap Sheet' to give citizens a look at 'Ricky's Round Up' to address current pet needs in the city.
Animals in Parsons have been a hot topic for several years. As we progress and grow as a city, we must continue to grow our knowledge of our pets and their needs. The Parsons Police Department wants to establish the standard for pet owners as 'Animal Guardians'.
Adopting the guardianship mentality will help pet owners understand and give the proper care to their pet and its specific needs. Much like securing a fence for a dog to enjoy its own back yard your house needs to be safe for your pet to enjoy.
