Sales Arrested for Distribution
On October 2, 2023, Parsons Police Officers went to a residence in the 700 block of North Central to serve an arrest warrant for Floyd Delmar Sales. The warrant was a Labette County Failure to Appear Warrant for Distribution of Controlled Substances stemming from Sales' April 11th arrest for Distribution. Sales is also on Federal Parole for Travel in Interstate Commerce in Aid of Racketeering.
When officers arrived at the residence, they saw Sales outside and he was arrested without incident. Officers conducted a search of Sales and discovered 3 bags of a white crystalline substance that field tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine, as well as marijuana and a glass smoking pipe. The methamphetamines weighed over 45 grams. Sales also had paraphernalia on his person used for the distribution of narcotics, as well as over $1,000.00 in cash.
Officers applied for and were granted a search warrant for the residence by a Labette County Judge. The residence was searched, and more items relating to the sale and distribution were collected along with more illegal narcotics.
Parsons Police are requesting the following charges from the Labette County Attorney's Office for Floyd Delmar Sales: Distribution of Certain Stimulant, Possession of Depressants, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Narcotics, and Possession of Paraphernalia with Intent to Manufacture Controlled Substance. Sales is also being held on the Labette County Warrant.
Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks said, "This was a good arrest by dedicated officers. Sales is on Federal Parole and was arrested for distribution in April of this year. He never should have been released. Career criminals of this caliber have no intentions of reform to become better citizens for our community. This is apparent in the large amounts of narcotics he was in possession of. I sincerely hope that he is held accountable for dealing death to our community. Great job and kudos to the officers for their dedication to duty."
This continues to be an on-going investigation and citizens are encouraged to "See It, Hear It, Report It." All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
