Reward update for the Arrest of Ranger's Killer

Date Posted: 12/22/2021

The Parsons Police Department has received hundreds of letters, emails, and phone calls in response to the attack on one of its officer's home and family. The heinous and vile action that killed an officer's puppy has garnered the support of people from across the United States. There is now a $30,000.00 Reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Ranger's killer.

"This could not have been done without the support of good people," according to Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks. "The support that has been shown to our officer is more than just humbling. It is honestly more than words can express. We just hope that we can make an arrest and put this family at ease."

The Parsons Police Department is still investigating this evil crime and will continue to do so.

The agency is seeking information on the attack on 'Ranger' along with the other two animal cruelty cases in the last year.

On Monday December 13th around 1:48pm officers discovered evidence that someone fired shots at two parked patrol cars at the Parsons Police Department. There were no injuries and both cars are still drivable. It is an ongoing criminal investigation, but the time frame has not been narrowed down specific enough to provide more camera footage than is already collected.

There was also an unknown person who was spotted near the pen of the Parsons Police Department K-9 Officer Karim. Karim's handler, Corporal Kyle Shields, heard a commotion and barking in his backyard that was not usual for Karim. Cpl. Shields was able to scare off the individual, but no contact was made, as the person fled on foot, this is also under investigation. It should be known to everyone that K-9 Officers are protected, and it is a felony to harm or kill one.

Chief Spinks said, "I can only speculate as to what people's motives are right now. It is still unknown if these three incidents are connected or just happen to be a huge coincidence. I will say this to the criminals that may think they are getting away with this, we have more friends than enemies in this community. Eventually you will be caught. We will not stop doing our job and will continue to support and defend our community. Various social media trolls who stir the anti-police sentiment in Parsons are among the list of people who we are looking at."

This continues to be an on-going investigation and citizens are encouraged to "See It, Hear It, Report It." If anyone has any further information on this incident or any other criminal activity, please contact the Parsons Police Department at 421-7060 or call the Tip Line at 421-7057 or email at tips@parsonspd.com.
