Police Seek Leads on Shooting

Date Posted: 03/07/2022

On Saturday March 5, 2022, at approximately 1:49 a.m., Parsons Police Officers were called to 2106 Crawford, Somewhere Else Bar for a reported shooting in the parking lot.

When officers arrived, there was a large crowd of people surrounding a victim in the parking lot. Officers rendered first aid to the victim, who was identified as Tyrone Mayweathers, 42 years old of Kansas City, that had multiple gunshot wounds that were apparent to officers that were providing life saving measures. Officers released Mayweathers to Emergency Medical Services personnel and began gathering information about the scene. Mayweathers was transported to Labette Health and later to an undisclosed hospital for specialized care.

Officers were told that there was a large fight in front of the bar in the parking lot. They were told that it started with two females and then quickly escalated to the point of gunshots. After gathering information from witnesses along with anonymous tips from the Parsons tip line officers were able to focus on their search for evidence. Police collected three shell casings from the scene. The police have narrowed their search to a person of interest who was identified as David Lamont Young III. Young was found to have possibly been in the company of Raymond Rigazio and Daruis Colbert who were all seen together at the bar before the fight broke out.

Police are asking for any information leading to the location of Young for questioning about the fight and shooting. The police are not yet naming Young as a suspect but only as a person of interest. Rigazio and Colbert are also wanted for questioning for any information on the shooting.

Parsons Police Department Lieutenant Kyle Wiford said, "this is not the first time that Young or Rigazio have been connected to a shooting, we are asking citizens to use caution around them and notify police. Again, we are looking to the community to assist us in locating these individuals. See It, Hear It, Report It has helped our agency in many investigations in the past and will continue to do so."

Police are aware that there are reportedly cellphone videos of the incident and are asking anyone with information or video to please share it with law enforcement. This can be sent anonymously through the tip line or shared anonymously with investigators. We are just looking for a resolution to this shooting.

This continues to be an on-going investigation and citizens are encouraged to "See It, Hear It, Report It." If anyone has any further information on this incident or any other criminal activity, please contact the Parsons Police Department at 421-7060 or call the Tip Line at 421-7057 or email at tips@parsonspd.com.
