Date Posted: 04/24/2025

The Parsons Police Department has once again earned national recognition for its dedication to professional excellence, receiving the Lexipol Gold Award for Excellence in Policy Management for the fifth consecutive year. This prestigious honor reflects the department's unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of policy development, training, and accountability.

Lexipol is one of the nation's leading providers of policy, training, and wellness support for public safety agencies. The Lexipol Connect Gold Award recognizes law enforcement agencies that demonstrate consistent and proactive efforts in maintaining and updating policies, ensuring officer acknowledgment, and providing ongoing policy training throughout the year. Only a select number of agencies nationwide achieve this high level of compliance and operational excellence.

To qualify for the Gold Award, agencies must meet strict benchmarks, including:

·         Complete policy acknowledgment by all sworn personnel,

·         Regular, documented reviews and updates of all operational policies,

·         Completion of daily training bulletins designed to keep officers current on essential policies.

Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks expressed his pride in the department's continued success and emphasized the importance of sound policy management in modern policing.

"Receiving the Lexipol Gold Award for the fifth year in a row is a significant achievement and a testament to the professionalism and dedication of our staff," said Chief Spinks. "Our commitment to sound policy isn't just about compliance-it's about equipping our officers with the knowledge and guidance they need to make informed decisions in the field. This recognition affirms that our department is not only meeting but exceeding national standards for public safety policy management."

A key contributor to this success is Officer Mark Raney, who has taken a leadership role in managing and updating the department's policy manual. Officer Raney has invested countless hours in ensuring the department's policies remain up to date with evolving laws, court decisions, and best practices in law enforcement.

"Keeping our policy manual current is a crucial part of helping the department operate efficiently and safely," said Officer Raney. "It's more than just paperwork-these policies are what guide us in the field, support accountability, and help build public trust. I'm proud to be part of a department that values these principles."

The Parsons Police Department continues to prioritize professional development, officer training, and transparency as core components of its service to the community. The department's consistent recognition by Lexipol shows its role as a leader in policy management and its commitment to continuous improvement in public safety operations.

The Parsons Police Department wishes to thank the men and women of the department for their continued dedication, and the community for their ongoing support. Together, these efforts help ensure that Parsons remains a safe and resilient place to live, work, and visit.
