Date Posted: 07/15/2024

On July 9, 2024, Parsons Police Officers responded to a call in the 2300 block of Crawford regarding a reported incident. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 27-year-old male inside of a vacant house, who appeared to have died by hanging. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, the individual, who was a Parsons resident, was later pronounced deceased by medical personnel.

As with all unattended deaths, this case is being meticulously investigated to rule out any possibility of foul play. At this time, no foul play is suspected.

Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and the community. "Tragedy impacts not only those close to the individual but the community as a whole. Often, we do not realize the effects we have on those around us until it is too late. Losing a community member in the prime of their life is profoundly saddening. Our thoughts are with the family, and we hope they find closure and peace."

This continues to be an on-going investigation and citizens are encouraged to "See It, Hear It, Report It." All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If anyone has any further information on this incident or any other criminal activity, please contact the Parsons Police Department at 421-7060 or call the Tip Line at 421-7057 or email at tips@parsonspd.com.
