Man Arrested for Robbery

Date Posted: 09/01/2020

On September 1, 2020 at approximately 12:02 am, Parsons Police Officers were called to a disturbance at the Parsons Village Apartments in the 1100 block of South 13th.

When officers arrived, they met with witnesses and a victim who stated that a man had forcibly taken a tablet from a woman and then smashed it on the ground outside of his own apartment. The witnesses said that the suspect was yelling during the exchange. The witnesses and victim were able to identify Jeromy Heiskell, 36 of Parsons, as the man who took and destroyed the tablet.

Parsons Police were able to locate and arrest Heiskell without incident. The Parsons Police Department is requesting that the Labette County Attorney's Office file charges for Robbery, Criminal Damage, and Disorderly Conduct.

Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks said, "We are appreciative when witness and victims' step forward with information on criminal activity. That alone helps police officers more effectively achieve a resolution that is acceptable to the community. Our primary goal is public safety and community service."

Heiskell was transported to the Parsons Police Department Lock-up to await charging and first appearance with a District Court Judge.

This continues to be an on-going investigation and citizens are encouraged to "See It, Hear It, Report It." If anyone has any further information on this incident or any other criminal activity, please contact the Parsons Police Department at 421-7060 or call the Tip Line at 421-7057 or email at tips@parsonspd.com.
