Man Arrested for Felony Level Criminal Damage
On June 15, 2022, in the early morning hours, Parsons Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a domestic fight taking place in the 1700 block of Stevens. The caller told the dispatcher that a white male with no shirt was yelling at a female and then took off towards 16th street.
When Sergeant Brice Dickens and Corporal Kyle Shields arrived in the area, they quickly spotted the described male and multiple vehicles in the area with the mirrors broken off. There were witnesses pointing to the male. Officers located and detained the male subject who was identified as Travis Caine Kellogg, 22 of Parsons.
Travis confessed to all of the damage that the officers had located. Travis had damaged nine vehicles and a mailbox and a large flowerpot in the area of 18th and Washington. It was found later that Travis had broken two windows at the Parsonion Apartments as well. Reported cost for the windows was close to $6,000.00. The department is still waiting for the estimated cost of the nine vehicles that were damaged as well as the mailbox and flowerpot.
Charges for Travis are being sent to the Labette County Attorney's Office. Police are requesting 11 counts of Felony Criminal Damage for Travis's actions.
Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks said "It is unfortunate that this much damage was done to any citizen's vehicle in this economic climate. I am thankful to the citizens who called the police department and reported this heinous activity. Destruction of property still hurts victims, not in a physical sense but financially and emotionally. It is now time to pass this felon on to the courts for their part of the criminal justice system."
This continues to be an on-going investigation and citizens are encouraged to "See It, Hear It, Report It."
