Kidnapping/ Assault Investigation Draws to an End with Several Arrests
The Parsons Police Department, the Woodson County Sheriff's Office, Labette County Sheriff's Office, and the Kansas Highway Patrol, announces the successful arrest of several individuals involved in a heinous kidnapping and robbery incident.
On February 18, 2024, a victim from Independence, KS, reported a harrowing experience of being kidnapped and robbed in Parsons, Labette County, KS. The victim was invited to the residence of Robyn Bennett in Parsons, where he was confronted by four armed men, including Alex Stevens, with whom he had a previous altercation. The victim was then subjected to physical assault, stripped down, blindfolded, and placed in the backseat of a vehicle. He was driven to a remote location in Labette County, where he was dropped off. He was then taken back to the city of Parsons, to another secluded location where he was again left. He managed to find the keys to his own mother's vehicle, which had been taken from him.
The now fully staffed Investigations Division with the Parsons Police Department have been working on this case and following up on leads since the incident was reported. This collaborative effort was spearheaded by Lieutenant Sherri McGuire as she assisted Sergeant Brice Dickens and Sergeant Tony Adamson with the investigation.
Throughout this intensive investigation, the following suspects have been apprehended:
- Christopher Hilton was arrested on March 4, 2024, in Parsons, KS, by the Labette County Sheriff's Office.
- Daquan Edwards was arrested on March 5, 2024, in Parsons, KS, by the Parsons Police Department.
- Alex Stevens was arrested on March 9, 2024, in Woodson County, KS, by the Parsons Police Department, with assistance from the Woodson County Sheriff's Office and Kansas Highway Patrol.
- Jacqulynn Jenkins, Stevens' girlfriend, was arrested on March 8, 2024, in Woodson County for Felony Interference and faces charges of Aggravated Kidnapping and Aggravated Robbery in Labette County.
- Sir Christuffer Roeder, currently held at the Parsons Police Lockup on other charges, faces charges of Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Battery, and Aggravated Assault in Labette County.
The suspects face a range of charges, including Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault, Criminal Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Theft, Criminal Threat, and Felony Interference.
Nathaniel Eli Steel remains at large with an outstanding Labette County Felony Warrant for his arrest.
Robyn Bennett is also facing charges for Aggravated Kidnapping and Aggravated Robbery, with warrants pending.
The arrests were made possible through the diligent efforts of law enforcement agencies involved in this multi-jurisdictional investigation. The Parsons Police Department express their commitment to ensuring justice for the victim and holding the perpetrators accountable for their actions.
