Golf Cart Recovery in Progress

Date Posted: 07/27/2021

On July 22, 2021, Parsons Police Officers were called to the Katy Golf Course, 2307 North Blvd. for a report of four golf carts being stolen.

The responding officer gathered the owner's information for each of the carts and a good description. It was discovered that locks had been cut off of five storage sheds to gain access to the carts between 9:30pm on July 21st and 8:00am on July 22nd.

Officers canvassed the surrounding areas and gathered video footage from several different sources. While searching for the stolen carts, officers located two of the carts. They found one hidden in barn in the 1000 block of North 17th. The cart was hidden, and it was unknown to the renter if the barn was even on their property. The cart was recovered and returned to the owner. They located the second cart near the 2000 block of Crawford. The second cart had appeared to be spray painted but matched the description of one of the stolen carts. The cart was recovered and returned to it owner as well.

The police are asking for citizens to assist in the location of the remaining two carts.  One is a 1997 Club Car electric cart that is tan in color, and the other is a 1997 EZ GO Golf Cart that is beige in color. If you see any carts that seem out of place and match these descriptions, please call the police department.

Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks said, "We have had great success with 'See It, Hear it, Report It' in the past and I believe it will be successful again. Parsons's citizens have always been able to help us identify criminals and property alike and that is what a great partnership is all about."

This continues to be an on-going investigation and citizens are encouraged to "See It, Hear It, Report It." If anyone has any further information on this incident or any other criminal activity, please contact the Parsons Police Department at 421-7060 or call the Tip Line at 421-7057 or email at tips@parsonspd.com.
