Felon Arrested in Parsons

On March 9th, 2021, Parsons Police received an email tip regarding the possible locations and vehicle description for a convicted felon and parolee, Vincent Lee Collins 32 years old. Collins was confirmed to have an active, arrest warrant out of Neosho County, KS. He also had a Kansas Department of Corrections warrant. The Neosho County warrant was for Burglary with Forced Entry into a home.

On March 11th, 2021, this tip was followed up on by Parsons PD detective A/Commander Kyle Wiford. Wiford located a vehicle matching the description given by the tipster in the 1200 block of Crawford Ave. Parsons, KS. This information was also relayed to Corporal Jordan Tomlinson. Tomlinson later apprehended Collins at the residence without incident. Custody of Collins was transferred to a Neosho County Sheriff's Office deputy and he was transported to their facility on the warrant.

Wiford stated "We thank the tipster for the information that led to the speedy arrest of this convicted felon, who has continued to incur new criminal charges in our neighboring county. Hopefully, this arrest will assist our partners in Neosho County with their investigations into the burglaries Collins was suspected in. Tomlinson is applauded for his quick and professional actions that took Collins into custody without any incident."

Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks said, "Again we have an instance that 'See It, Hear It, Report It' took another felon off the streets of Parsons. It is this type of action that will keep our community safe. Sometimes even the anonymous tip can lead to a great arrest. I want to thank everyone involved in this speedy apprehension and look forward to future success in partnering with our community."
