Convicted Felon Arrested for Sexual Battery

Date Posted: 12/20/2021

On December 18, 2021, Parsons Police Officers were dispatched to the lobby of the police station for a report of a possible sexual battery.

William Patrick Mansfield Jr., 33 of Parsons, was arrested on December 18th for suspicion of Sexual Battery and Failure to Register as an Offender. Mansfield was also found to have an active Failure to Appear Warrant out of the City of Parsons. Charges have been sent to the Labette County Attorney's Offices for review.

Parsons Officers arrested Mansfield on the charges after the victim came to the police department to file the report. During the investigation of the reported battery, it was found that Mansfield failed to register as an offender through the Labette County Sheriff's Office. Mansfield is a convicted felon as well, who was recently released on Parole. Mansfield has since had another warrant issued by the Kansas Department of Corrections for a Parole Violation.

Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks said, "any physical battery is serious, but a sexual battery is an unforgivable crime, and my heart goes out to the victim in this case."

This continues to be an on-going investigation and citizens are encouraged to "See It, Hear It, Report It."
