Arrest Warrant Leads to Search Warrant and Narcotics Bust

Date Posted: 07/26/2023

On July 25, 2023, Parsons Police Sergeant Brice Dickens and Corporal Christian Smith went to a residence in the 1400 block of Dirr to serve an active Labette County Felony Arrest Warrant for Jessie James Lamont Tolleson, for Failure to Appear.

While officers were on scene to serve the warrant, they observed illegal narcotics in plain view. Tolleson was arrested without incident. Sergeant Dickens applied for and was granted a search warrant signed by a Labette County Judge for the residence.

Officers served the search warrant without incident and collected distribution levels of white crystalline substances that gave a 'presumptive positive' field test indication for Methamphetamines. Marijuana as well as paraphernalia for the use and distribution of narcotics were also located in the residence.

Parsons Police Lieutenant Kyle Wiford said, "I applaud Sgt. Dickens and Cpl. Smith's actions on scene while serving the arrest warrant for being observant. Their keen observation led to the application and successful service of a search warrant, and we were once again able to make a valuable arrest for the distribution of narcotics in Parsons."

The Parsons Police Department is seeking the following charges on Jessie James Lamont Tolleson from the Labette County Attorney's Office; Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Stimulants, Distribution of Stimulants, Possession of Paraphernalia (Distribution), and the Labette County Failure to Appear Warrant.

This continues to be an on-going investigation and citizens are encouraged to "See It, Hear It, Report It." All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If anyone has any further information on this incident or any other criminal activity, please contact the Parsons Police Department at 421-7060 or call the Tip Line at 421-7057 or email at tips@parsonspd.com.
