Date Posted: 12/07/2018

On December 6, 2018 at 3:35pm Parsons Police Officers were dispatched to Border Town 2901 Main for a report of a gun being pulled during an argument between customers.

It was reported that a black male in a red hooded sweatshirt with dreadlocks was the subject in question and he had left the area. During the investigation officers were able to obtain an address leading to the suspect.

Corporal Waylon Kepley and Officer Pamela Burris located Denarius Brinson Black Male age 26. Officers found that Brinson had a nationwide felony warrant out of Jefferson County Arkansas for Aggravated Residential Burglary, Aggravated Assault, and Terroristic Threat. Brinson was arrested and transported to the Parsons Police Department.

Parsons Police Sergeant John Keene reported that during a subsequent search of the residence a black handgun was recovered with a high capacity 32 round magazine. Brinson, a convicted felon, will be charged with the possession of the weapon as well as being extradited back to Arkansas.

Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks stated, "this is just one more criminal that will not use our community as a safe haven." Brinson is currently at the Parsons Police Department and will be transported to the Labette County Jail after his extradition hearing.

This continues to be an on-going investigation and citizens are encouraged to "See It, Hear It, Report It". If anyone has any further information on this incident or any other criminal activity, please contact the Parsons Police Department at 421-7060 or call the Tip Line at 421-7057 or email at tips@parsonspd.com.
