Aggravated Assault Leads to Arrest

On June 26, 2020 Parsons Police Officers were called to a disturbance in the 3100 block of Corning. It was reported that there was a man waving a gun in the air and making threatening remarks.

When officers arrived, they discovered that the altercation was the result of a civil dispute that turned hostile. The situation continued to escalated and the suspect, Steven Marshall, 68 years old of Parsons, allegedly pulled out a 45 caliber / 410 gauge "Judge" Revolver and pointed it at the victim threatening to kill him, according to the victim and a witness that was in the area.

Officers arrested Marshall and transported him to the Parsons Police Department. Police are sending charges to the Labette County Attorneys office for Aggravated Assault and Criminal Threat.

Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks said, "again we owe a huge thanks to witnesses who embrace the See It, Hear It, Report It mentality and notify officials. This arrest was made possible by cooperation with the citizens who reported it and were willing to do the right thing. As a community we will continue to grow and evolve making Parsons a better city to live in."
