The Parsons Police Department has taken reports of a new rental house scam crime. It's been reported that an unidentified subject has put up a couple different rental home ads on social media in the Parsons area.  We called the number on the listings and the Male who answered said he was the sole owner and was taking applications for the rental. The individual is requesting several different amounts in fees and deposits ranging from $80-$900. We have contacted the actual owners of the homes and none of the homes are up for rental or sale. Someone has taken pictures from online sources and is using them to scam people out of money.

If you've been the victim of these scam ads please come to the Parsons Police Department to make a report or call 620-421-7060 to make a report. Officers and Detectives are continuing to follow up on these crimes.
